Kristina Kahan, BSN, RN, MBA, CPC, COC, CRC

Kristina Kahan, BSN, RN, MBA, CPC, COC, CRC, has over 20 years of experience in the consulting industry. Prior to joining Epsilon Life Sciences as a Senior Advisor, she held a senior role in the Disputes and Economics practice at a global consulting firm. Ms. Kahan specializes in providing coding, compliance, investigative, clinical, operational, and industry expertise to assist providers and payers. She is a Registered Nurse and a Certified Professional Coder with a specialty certification in Risk Adjustment coding. Ms. Kahan has served clients and their counsel in a wide range of engagements, including investigations, self-disclosures, and expert testimony.

Ms. Kahan’s areas of expertise include compliance and regulatory work, where she has provided support and technical expertise related to the defense of government investigations, internal compliance reviews, and due diligence engagements; expert testimony, where she has provided testimony in arbitration, deposition, and informal interactions designed to help settle matters related to billing and coding accuracy, regulatory controls, financial analyses, and medical necessity of services in a variety of healthcare provider settings; and Independent Review Organization (IRO) services, where she has lead IRO engagements for a wide variety of providers who are obligated to a Corporate Integrity Agreement, with a focus including billing and coding accuracy, arrangements (contracts with referral sources), and medical necessity of inpatient and outpatient services.

Ms. Kahan holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University.
